Really good Hokkien noodles with egg, the soft egg was just right. Loved the yellow noodles. The pork satay with sauce and pickles was tasty too. The place has a nice local, open-air vibe. Did notice a hair on the table but overall still a good experience. Yummy ice milk tea.
What a place for a foodie, amazing taste, mouth watering 😀, it was like I can eat it every day. Do try soupy dishes. 👍 It does live to its michellin star ⭐
Visited in April 2025 Some of the best satay I've ever eaten. Tender, expertly marinated meat, grilled to perfection. Not charred, not without colour. Just the perfect amount. The peanut sauce was simply incredible. If it weren't so crowded and I weren't so conscious of being the only Indian diner there, I would've licked the plate of sauce clean. Hokkien mee was top notch. The flavour of the work comes through in every bite. Since I wanted to try the authentic version, I got mine with an egg on top but next time Id get it without. I think that suits my palate better as the egg makes the already thick texture of the dish reach almost borderline gooey/slimey. Not in a bad way, just foreign to my palate. Still finished the whole bowl though. Very kind staff, I felt very welcome and enjoyed my meal thoroughly.
Super cheap and good food. 60-80 baht per dish. Place is packed all the time by the look of it. We tried to go on a Friday at 11:30am and it was closed even though Google said it should be open. Then in their website it said something like it’s only open Tuesday to Thursday? I’m not sure exactly but we ended up going back on a Tuesday at mid day and it was open. Photos speak for themselves. I think it’s cash only.
Mee Ao Gea is a classic local spot that I’ve been eating at for about 20 years. The food is still tasty, though I feel the quality hasn't dropped compared to the past. That said, they maintain a good standard, and the service is fast. Their signature dish is the Hokkien stir-fried noodles in Phuket style, which come in three versions: the traditional Hokkien, mee hun (rice vermicelli), and a mixed version. I recommend trying all three to find your favorite. The pork satay is also a must-try—tender, flavorful, and a perfect side dish. Overall, it’s a solid place for local flavors and definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
