Great food, ok service. Greeted by 2 super cute cats that are well fed. Had the pork Krapow which was amazing! There was however a bone (pork) stuck in my krapow so please be careful when eating. Always add an egg for the best experience. Also had the crab stir fried with chilies and peppercorn which was very flavourful but definitely on the saltier side. Oyster omelette was mid tbh. Service from the owner’s son was mid and aloof. Dont care much as there’s no service charge. The restaurant also has quite a few houseflies. Will visit just to takeaway the Krapow.
I found the food a little too salty or too sweet for my taste, and the wok hei was not as pronounced as I had expected. I also waited quite a while before being served, which affected the overall experience. In addition, the lighting in the room felt quite dim and made the atmosphere a bit too sleepy for me. Having tried many Michelin restaurants, I personally felt this one was somewhat overrated.
While this spot is celebrated for its home-cooked style, I found the experience a bit overrated and difficult to justify at this price point. The Michelin accolades were surprising; it’s a poignant reminder of how subjective dining experiences truly are. Regarding the oyster omelette, the texture was quite runny - perhaps a stylistic choice, but certainly an unusual one for my palate
Please read my post if you want a good meal. The food here is very tasty. I recommend ordering the oyster omelet and the crispy fish in red sauce. They are very delicious. However, the downside of this restaurant is that it is very crowded and the wait for food is very long. I waited for my food for almost an hour, and two tables after me got their food before me. If you are very hungry, I do not recommend it because the wait for food can be quite long. They cook the food according to the orders of each table. Even if you order the same menu as the person in front of you, they will only make one dish at a time
🇹🇭My Perfect Thai Lunch: Crispy Pork & Cold Coca-Cola at Chuan Chim! 🤩 Seriously, you guys, if you’re near Phuket Town, you HAVE to visit Chuan Chim (ชวนชิม). I just finished the most satisfying meal, and I’m already planning my next visit! I went for the classic Stir-fried Chinese Broccoli with Crispy Pork (คะน้าหมูกรอบ), and it was outstanding. The pork was expertly fried to that perfect, audible crispiness, and the greens were cooked just right. It was served alongside a mountain of fluffy rice topped with a glorious fried egg (love that runny yolk!) and a zesty chili dipping sauce. To wash it all down on a warm day? A refreshing, ice-cold Coca-Cola! It made the whole meal complete. This spot is fantastic whether you’re traveling solo and need a quick, delicious bite, or you’re hanging out with friends. Don't miss out! ✨ 5/5 stars for this local gem! 📍 Restaurant: Chuan Chim (ชวนชิม) 📍 Address: 37/3 Montri Rd, Phuket Town #PhuketFood #ThaiFood #ChuanChim #StreetFood #CrispyPork #KhanaMooKrob #PhuketEats #TravelThailand #CocaCola
