Bao Oanh Cafe & Kem Dua

Coconut ice cream was great experience. Atmosphere very nice too, with view of sun set, lake and pagoda.

Located close to the Ho Truc Bach, the cafe serves excellent coconut ice cream in a coconut shell with coconut shavings and roasted peanuts. It's the cafe's signature, a must-have dessert when trying for the first time. Bao Oanh has a great lake view and a modern refurbished cafe. It has an elevator to meet the four floors building. Overall, it is spacious, and the staff are approachable.

We had gone specifically for this ice-cream dish and we were not disappointed. Great icecream, presentation, tasty. Quite an awesome experience. We saw that, people came in just to eat this dish. Ambiance especially due to scenary outside is just gorgeous. If you are nearby and want to have dessert or a simple snack maybe.. do visit the place.

Came to this place by the lake. As it was a hot day, I tried the coffee and an ice cream. Both were average. Service is below average. Even though the place was empty, it was tough to get a server. The server demanded payment up front and took for ever to get the order.

We got there in the afternoon looking forward to the famous coconut ice cream. As we got to the address, we were greeted by the 3 guys on the street who kind of forced us to go upstairs to the rooftop for the ice cream, which made us uncomfortable. We were then seated on 5/F and ordered their FAMOUS coconut ice cream. When the ice cream finally arrived, our hearts sanked. The ice cream was served in a what seemed to be a reused coconut shell, and also, the presentation of the ice cream is mediocre at best. The taste of the ice cream is no different from any coconut ice cream one can purchase at the supermarket, bland. This place to me is hype more than anything. Unless their ice cream are famous for blandness, then for sure, they hit the jackpot.
