Hanoi Weekend Night Market is a fun experience, but don’t rush to buy anything right away. A lot of stalls sell pretty much the same items, so prices vary a lot. You’ll see a shirt for 199k at one stall, then 150k at the next, and if you keep walking and bargain a bit, you can probably get it for around 99k. Definitely take your time before buying. There are also a lot of counterfeit items like clothes, bags, shoes. so if you’re into that kind of stuff, you’re in the right place. Food-wise, there are plenty of options like skewers, fruit juices, fresh fruits, and other street food, which is nice while walking around. It does get really crowded, especially at night, so just be prepared for that. Went around 7 PM and stayed until about 10:30 Pm, good vibe overall. I’d rate it around 4/5. Worth checking out at least once for the experience.
Very lively, a lot of people, tourists and locals. For the locals, it looks like a place to hang out and then walk around the lake. You can find mostly souvenirs there and some food. Prices are correct, 100k for a shirt, 60k for a bamboo mug... I spent 3 weekends in Hanoi, I got used to spend the evening there.
Visited Hanoi during Tet, and even though many shops and restaurants were closed, the Hanoi Night Market was buzzing with life. The streets were packed with people and lined with vendors selling everything—from street food and clothes to candies, Chinese New Year lucky items, flowers, plants, and fresh fruits. The Old Quarter felt incredibly alive and festive, with the crowd taking over most of the streets and only a few cars able to pass through. It made the whole experience feel even more vibrant and exciting. It was such a fun experience overall—especially if you love shopping, exploring, and trying different food and drinks. Definitely a must-visit when in Hanoi!
Hanoi Night Market is open every Friday to Sunday, except on memorial days. To avoid missing it, I recommend asking locals for the schedule. Some roads are closed to vehicles during the market hours. Like other night markets, there are many stalls selling food, souvenirs, local crafts, clothes, and more. It’s a fun experience but be careful with your things.
The market is located from Hang Da Street to Dong Xuan Street. Tbh at 6 pm they were still getting ready, so maybe you better come here around 7/8pm. The market is mostly clothes, socks, and shoes. You don’t really find many food stalls here. The price was relatively affordable, depends on the seller. My two cents would be don’t get rushed to buy things, bcs some sellers sold it with lower price 🥲 also, you cannot bargain here.
