Sa Pa Night Market
Opening Hours
Why worth it
- Sapas main evening market, set against mountain views and cooler highland air than lowland Vietnam
- Look for grilled skewers, corn, and warming local snacks suited to Sapas chilly evenings
- A good stop to see Hmong and Dao ethnic minority sellers alongside the food stalls
- Rated 4.1 — reviews suggest its a solid but not flashy evening stroll rather than a must-see spectacle

Surprisingly, Sapa has a night market as well! There are many BBQ stalls with reasonable prices along with a dessert stall offering hot local desserts. I also saw a few stalls selling freshly made chestnut pancakes and some fruit stalls. One interesting find was a stall selling handmade knives. Overall, the prices are quite reasonable and it’s a great place to explore in the evening when you’re in Sapa.
Went on a Friday night, very crowded by 6.30 PM. It was a relatively small night market located in front of Sapa Market. Not many food stalls - most selling same kind of food. Had a variety of BBQ skewers and dessert for dinner. There were also also many selling meat jerky, chestnut cookies and souvenirs.
Local Vibe, Food okay, price is overpriced Visited: Evening, two days after Tet (February 2026) Location: About a 10-minute walk from Sapa Square toward the lake This wasn't the main tourist night market—it felt more local! Mostly Vietnamese people, and the atmosphere was incredibly lively and energetic. What they sell: Mainly grilled skewers and fresh fruit. Perfect for a casual evening meal. What we ordered: · 4 platters of mixed grilled skewers (enough for 4 people) · Local rice wine Total bill: 1,300,000 VND (we didn't bargain) Food highlights: · Grilled corn · Grilled meat skewers · Grilled vegetables Everything was delicious and perfect for the cool evening! Atmosphere: Bustling with locals, lots of energy, very authentic experience. Not as touristy as the market near the church. Tip: Go with an empty stomach and try a bit of everything! Verdict: If you want a more local market experience with great grilled food, walk toward the lake. Highly recommended!
Sa Pa Night Market – Good place to walk around and eat. Plenty of local snacks, grilled food, and souvenirs with a lively atmosphere, especially in the evening.
Small in size as compared to others i have been (maybe only during cold periods), stalls selling similar stuff. Make the best of what I can, tried out some local delights, and say down for a small BBQ meal which was the highlight.
