If you’re in Ninh Binh and want to try the famous local Goat 🐐 Meat, Chinh Thu is a well-known place. We really liked the food. The goat meat was fresh, tender, and full of flavour. It was definitely one of the better meals we had in Ninh Binh. However, the biggest downside was the cleanliness. It’s a large restaurant, but it felt quite dirty, and we were honestly struggling to find a clean place to sit. It took away from what could have been a great dining experience. The management really needs to pay more attention to cleanliness. With food this good, the restaurant deserves to offer a much better overall experience.

The atmosphere was casual and lively. It is not a fancy restaurant, but it feels spacious and comfortable enough for groups. The setting matched the style of food well and gave the place an authentic local feeling. Service was straightforward and efficient. Even when the restaurant was busy, the food still arrived in a reasonable time and the staff handled things smoothly. Overall, I think Nhà Hàng Dê Chính Thư is a good place to try Ninh Bình’s famous goat dishes. The experience feels local, filling, and suitable if you want to enjoy regional food after exploring the area.

We stopped here for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The stir-fried goat meat was tender, flavorful, and not gamey at all, cooked with herbs and spices that really brought it together. The seasonal soup and fried eggs were simple but comforting, and everything paired perfectly with hot rice. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and very busy with locals, which is always a good sign. Service was quick despite the crowd, and prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. Overall, a solid, honest local restaurant. Good food, fair prices, and definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area. Would come back again.

do you like goat ? do you like semi wild (?) goat raised amongst the limestone karsts , with an ultra authentic vietnamese backing vibe of 200 goat eating companions who also seemingly like oneself have absolutely nowhere to be on wednesday afternoon at 2pm , then this could be the place for you . We ordered the burnt rice (like a sort of enormous savoury slightly margarine version of a kellog’s rice krispy square) with goat sauce , the sauce however was more like a sort of xanthan gum gloop , with a homeopathic ‘good intentions’ imaginings of goat in it . the lady who served us was very sweet . the egg omelette and the morning glory (which came long after we’d finished everything else) was good .

If you're a tourist (or even a local) please run far, far away from this place. One of the least enjoyable experiences I've had in years of travelling and eating at all sorts of countries. Cost 450,000 for one person (tourist prices obviously), one meat dish, one vegetable dish, the Com Chay, and a beer, ridiculous. The meat dish was a small plate of De tai chanh (sliced rare goat meat) which was extremely chewy and not tender or fresh. Flies were landing on my salad every five seconds. Disgustingly dirty environment. Staff looked overworked. The restaurant could tidy itself up and allow in fewer people instead of cramming themselves to the brim in the name of making profits. First impression of Ninh Binh unfortunately absolutely ruined by this place.
