Cơm hến Hoa Đông
Opening Hours
Why worth it
- One of Hues longest-running spots for com hen, a rice-and-baby-clam dish thats a defining local breakfast
- Also serves hen xao (stir-fried clams) and bun hen — worth ordering more than one clam dish to compare
- A little out of the old town center, but repeatedly described as worth the extra walk
- Very affordable — bowls run around 10,000-15,000 VND

Do yourself a big favor and come here even if it's out of your way! By far the best Com Hen! I've had it somewhere else and it was just okay, but here, it's amazing! We also has the stir fried mussel and YUM!! Everything was so good, and the place was full of locals, yet the sweet aunties took care of us, made little jokes and were very friendly! Amazing food and vibes!
1 musscles rice portion is 20k VND. If you want to get a full meal order 2 portions. A meal is well seasoned. No need to add anything else. We ordered 2 mussels rice, 2 passion fruit juice and 1 flat steamed rice dumplings and they give us 1 bowl of broth which u can use to eat with the rice. The total bill is 100k VND 40k for 2 bows of rice. 40k for 1 rice dumplings and 20k for 2 passionfruit juice
Amazing experience eating excellent Com Hen with a truly local experience! We were the only tourists at this restaurant, and they really took good care of us as soon as we arrived. They suggested what we should order, though we knew we wanted the com hen, and showed us what to put in it for best taste. The food was excellent, though a single portion of com hen is a little small, I could've eaten 2 bowls. I really recommend visiting this place to eat an excellent Com Hen
One of those local spots which have great food. However be prepared as hygiene can be questionable considering it is a street food style stall so rubbish can be seen on the floors. Food was good and we also took a walk around the area which was right beside the river.
The flavors were excellent, really nice to add some of the chili sauce. We ordered the cơm hến, mì hến, and some Huda beer. All for 60 000 VND which is about $2. The women working there didn’t speak any English but were helpful and very sweet. The place had just the kind of vibe we were looking for: away from the tourist spots, with those small red plastic chairs. The overall experience is the reason we decided to visit Vietnam. Thank you.
