Naka Weekend Market
Why worth it
- Phuket's biggest weekend night market, held every Saturday and Sunday in a huge open-air venue
- Hundreds of stalls covering street food, clothing, and live entertainment, drawing both locals and tourists
- Even served as a launchpad stage for a Thai singer who went on to compete on America's Got Talent

It was a really nice walk although I did not buy anything from the market…It can be quite crowded at night. Food center however was not bad. Some of the food were really quite tasty and value for money. Overall it was more for the vibe! Come here if you have time
Visited Naka Weekend Market (ตลาดท้ายรถนาคา) in Phuket and what I thought would be a quick stop for some food turned into an entire evening of exploring. The market is huge and sprawling, with rows of stalls selling street food, clothes, souvenirs, local products, and even second-hand items. Every time I thought I had reached the end, there seemed to be another section to wander into. The food area was one of the highlights. There were grilled skewers, seafood, fried snacks, desserts, cold drinks and plenty more. Rather than looking for anything specific, I simply followed the aromas, the queues and whatever looked good coming off the grill. What I enjoyed most was actually the atmosphere. There was smoke rising from the grills, music from the stalls and people moving in every direction. It’s busy, a little chaotic and definitely not the polished side of Phuket — but that’s exactly what makes it interesting. This isn’t really a market to rush through. Give yourself time to wander, eat and see where the different rows of stalls take you. For me, Naka Weekend Market wasn’t memorable because of one particular dish or purchase. It was the movement, smells, crowds and unexpected discoveries along the way that made the experience. Definitely worth experiencing if you want to see a different, more local side of Phuket.
Naka Market (Talad Tai Rot) is a total sensory experience. The energy is electric, with a buzzing atmosphere and a massive layout that keeps you exploring for hours. It's the perfect place to soak in the local culture while browsing through endless stalls. The Food: You have to check out the Street Food Center! There is an incredible variety of authentic Thai options. I personally grabbed some Pad Thai, and it was fresh, flavorful, and incredibly affordable—a highlight of the night. Shopping: If you’re looking for souvenirs, this is the spot. I was impressed by the huge selection of hand-painted, decorative items like these colorful elephant figurines, which make for perfect gifts. Practical Tips: Come hungry and ready to walk; there is a lot to cover! Keep some cash handy for the food stalls and smaller vendors. The market is very popular, so expect a lively crowd, but that’s all part of the fun. I had a fantastic time and will definitely be back!
It was filled with a fantastic food court at the end, the food is amazing and diverse. The hours aren’t bad either. You can also haggle the prices if you wanna buy something. Theres fake merchandise, Thailand tourist clothes, shoes, hats, jewelry and so much more. Theres also amazing food for dinner and dessert, drinks like smoothies, water, soda, and alcohol. For dinner there’s seafood chicken, beef (even wagyu) and more. Theres also a lotta different dessert like mochi, ice cream, fried potato and sweet potato balls (my favorite) and even more. The bathrooms cost 5 baht, but food and item prices are very diverse, most people working there can understand a good amount of English, they are very used to tourists and friendly. I’d love to come back here, love this place, it’s very cheap (ofc depending on what currency your country has). 10/10 P.S they sell a lotta weed and even weed brownies if anyone is up for that. Also I mostly took pictures of the food.
This market is good and offers a diverse food experience. I really liked the salmon, and the desserts were good as well. Just note that the market is only open on weekends from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. There are also clothing and accessories stalls, with prices ranging from cheap to moderate.
