We went to Go La for dinner. Michelin guide recommends as one of the best Hokkien noodles restaurant in Old Town Phuket. We were given a Thai menu with a few pictures of seafood. After using google lens to translate the menu, we found they are a lot more than just a noodle shop. We ordered seafood hokkien noodles, shrimp and seafood porridges, bitter Mellon and eggs. The food is great. The price is even better. The total bill with a coke is only B$270 (about usd $9). The staff are friendly and provided good services. Now I just need to back and try the different dishes on their menu.
I had Hokkien mee before, but this time I tried three dishes that were featured in the Michelin Bib Gourmand guide that I didn’t get a chance to try last time.
We specifically went to this place because of the reviews and michelin guide. We were both, disappointed, we actually tried 3 diff noodle meals and one fried rice. I don’t think there’s something extraordinary with the food. I was expecting this is one of those gold finds. But we were mostly disappointed, this is for sure subjective. But twasn’t a place I would recommend for anyone. In any case, for its price, twas an okay meal. No love lost as we didn’t spend a heaps.
moderately-priced phuket-style hokkien noodles. unpretentious and casual. hyped by some reviewers, but actually quite mid. definitely not vegan or vegetarian on average days.
Great fried rice and tasty hokkien noodles. Loved the smokiness of the wok in the dishes! Should try it out if youre in the area.
