Cherng Doi Roast Chicken

My food rating guide: 2.5/5 ‐-------> Average taste 5/5 ‐--------> Scrumptious! (My comfort food! 🤩) The fried papaya salad was excellent. Crispy, sweet and fragrant. Roasted chicken was tender and nice. The BBQ pork was tender and nice too. The meal was a 4/5

Dunno why people rate this so highly. While the chicken is somewhat moist yet the skin is crispy, the taste is not impressive. The grilled pork is also another recommended item but it was only mid. Atmosphere was mid too. Only good thing was there was free parking next door for customers.

A very popular roast chicken restaurant in Chiang Mai. However, service wise needs some work with consistency. Unfortunately, my experience was mixed with ups and down. Despite good flavour from the grilled chicken, the main star was served to me semi-hot. So I wasn’t into it that much since the chicken is not sizzling hot as if it has been laid to rest for quite awhile. Som Tam was awesome with great combination of salted crab. The crowd management was bad. 3 crowd who was behind me just forced themselves inside and the staff happily just accepted them before me. That was a turn off. I was about to leave because of that treatment but thankfully a lady staff saw the incident and quickly apologised and prioritised me.

The grilled chicken is so delicious—incredibly juicy and tasty! The papaya salad is good too, and I absolutely love the sticky rice. Combining all three makes for such a great meal!

Recommend if you’re near one Nimman. Their signature chicken was a bit on the pricey side but still the food itself made it worth it. Their chicken was nicely seasoned and the skin was indeed crispy. Got it along with their corn salad which had a citrusy salty taste. Complimented well with their signature chicken.
