A rare, worthy Michelin Bib Gourmand find. This was so delicious!! Their signature dish was essentially a slurpable flavour bomb that was super filling. The noodles had a comforting carby-chewy texture, & the soup ("sticky soup", as opposed to the clear soup variant) was perfectly starchy & packed full of flavor. Ingredients are plenty & generous: Stewed pork, crispy pork (which I enjoyed & I don't usually!), boiled pork slices Sticky Soup. The self-serve chilli had a good kick to it, without being overwhelming. I dipped my ingredients in the sauce to pair with each slurp of noodles... Cuts through the richness of the noodles & stew wonderfully. Arriving at 11AM, there was a queue of people waiting outside, but the turnover was pretty fast. Having made a 1km trek from Sam Yot MRT station for this, I especially appreciated how my table had a fan to keep me cool. It gave my trusty @jisulife.official fan a much-needed break 😩 Service was attentive & polite; it being my first time here, they were patient to explain the menu to me. You place your order first, then wait for a table to be available, & payment made after your meal. A solid 5 stars & I was left thinking about this in the days after 🤤 🫶🏻
Kolun Hainanese Noodles is one of the most authentic and well-balanced bowls I’ve had. The broth is rich and flavorful, with a fragrant peppery aroma and distinct spices that really stand out. Every element — from the noodles to the toppings and seasonings — is thoughtfully prepared and perfectly balanced. The owners are very friendly and welcoming, always smiling and making the experience even more enjoyable. There might be a short wait during busy hours, but the queue moves quickly and it’s definitely worth it. Highly recommended if you’re looking for authentic, comforting Hainanese-style noodles.
A wee feeling sad due to the crispy pork is running out today. Actually I had been there before they will be closed 30 mins😅 The noodle with the brown sauce is more sweeter than the noodles with broth-clear soup. for myself really recommend the the noodles with broth clear soup - for more flavorful spicy and salty, you can add 3-4 teaspoons of shrimps paste sauce (better to taste before seasoning before it is spicy from grounded peppers). In addition, the goat-meat in red-soup is available as well.
Long queue, an hour's wait to be seated. Numbers are given, so you're free to explore around the vicinity before coming back. Food was okay. It's a thick tye of white noodles. Soup was clear peppery spicy or thick gravy type. All of them are sprayed with a lot of sesame seeds, so if you're someone who dislikes em, better tell them to not put the sesame seeds on in the first place.
Sticky soup with braised and crispy pork (น้ำข้นหมูตุ๋น + หมูกรอบ) Unusual textures, soup full of flavours. Greens in it - pickled mustard leaves, great addition! Their signature sauce was not particularly to our taste, but pickled chili condiment 🌶️👌 Arrived at 10:30, queue was not crazy, we waited some 10-15min to be seated.
