The oldest roofed market in Bangkok. Great food stalls, lots of them are here for generations. Sure, it's kinda touristy as well but that's the way our world goes. Be nice and respectful to the hard working people there, learn a few words in thai and they will treat you like family.
I love here. Delicious traditional foods with economy price. I tried so many dishes here. Main dishes and desserts never disappointed. I will be back again.
I was in the neighborhood and decided to check out what a local market looks like. Google Maps led me here, and I was pleasantly surprised. There were several stalls selling both raw ingredients and ready-to-eat snacks and meals. At the center, there’s an area for dining customers. I really enjoy seeing communities like this. Everything feels mundane yet vibrant.
Come for the food market, but also stay to wonder around this old town district with lots of charm and history - including the Sala Chalerm Thani cinema - Thailand’s oldest wooden cinema, which dates back to 1918. Like its neighborhood there’s a cool, friendly community vibe in the market that has plenty of Thai food options and fruit, produce, and meat stalls. Compared to other places, Nang Leong is also clean, airy, very well priced, and has quite a few tables for dining. Pro tip come for an early lunch and then enjoy a coffee or desert at nearby cafes.
Many said that this is the oldest market in Bangkok. The numerous bustling food stalls selling local snacks, desserts, and a variety of other dishes are truly mouth-watering. I loved how tidy they arrange the foodcourt. All food stalls lines up neatly, all tables and seats are always clean, just did not look like in a market at all. Found a khanom krok stall here, a simple and humble stall, with a friendly seller. Freh from the oven, sweet and savory, crispy outside yet juicy and melting inside, so delicious. A box of khanom krok (more than 10 pieces) cost 25 baht (as per Jul'25), so affordable. Definitely, I will be back fot this one.
