The Penang pork and red curry beef are among the best I’ve ever tasted. For a low cost of about $130 for 3 plates (can’t recall the exact cost). The rice is nothing to shout about but the curry… so rich, such depth of flavor, it’s not oily that it leaves you feeling icky afterwards. The meats are lean yet remain tender and pair perfectly with the curry spices.
Jek Pui is an absolute must-visit street food legend in Bangkok. The authentic experience of enjoying their rich, flavorful curries on a signature red plastic stool right on the pavement makes for a five-star culinary adventure. Incredible Flavors: The creamy green curry with chicken and the tender red beef panaeng are perfectly spiced and cooked from scratch. The Atmosphere: Nothing beats the bustling Chinatown vibe, sitting on iconic red plastic stools and digging into a hearty plate of rice.Unbeatable Value: You get a generous, life-changing meal for only about $40 to $60 THB!Pro Tip: Make sure to top your curry with a side of savory, slightly sweet Chinese sausage and a boiled egg.
I tried Khao Gaeng Jek Pui's restaurant on a whim, but the taste, price, and service impressed my family and me greatly. And of course, I'll definitely be back to support them again. The restaurant owner was so kind and friendly. I was so impressed and happy! Customers who happen to be passing by that area or who are craving curry rice are welcome to try it out.👍🏻
It’s hidden gem in chinatown! Very poplar among locals. I ordered yellow curry add sausage and egg, the curry itself only comes with meat and potato. This yellow curry is really mild taste, you can change the rice with bee hoon as well. Besides, I ordered pa naeng curry as well, this one taste bolder than yellow curry, but it was served not hot compared to the yellow curry. Price also very cheap, they serve it very quickly. Thelace only provide chair to eat, we need to hold the plate while eating. It is located inside the very small road, will come back for sure
One of the best memories I had of my recent trip in Bangkok was at this place . I was solo traveling along the streets of Chinatown using my phone’s gps and so by lunch time, my phone battery went almost flat. There were many people around - both tourists and locals alike- having their humble plate of rice and I asked for help from one of the locals to help make payment for my plate of rice . She was helpful and even asked if there was anything else i needed . Good thing the owner was understanding as well to wait for his payment . I got my plate of rice and sat on one of the plastic chairs to enjoy my lunch. The sitting area is open and with nice cool shade, despite Bangkok’s hot weather. It was also nice to see that the leftover food got separated into another large plastic container ie a respectable manner .
