If this not THE BEST, then this is one of the BEST restaurants in Bangkok. Always remember when Mark Wiens recommends it, make sure you have to visit. THE BEST PRAWNS I HAVE EVER HAD. Ordered moo krob with sunflower sprouts(what even is that right?), Vermicelli with pork, and their signature prawns with garlic. The best way to end your chatuchak adventure is going to do a thai massage and go directly straight to this joint. Staff is so friendly and accommodating. Chef is a master. Having to cook literally all the orders by himself and still manages to not only talk but also give a smile to us. They're not yet in the Michelin guide but they deserve to be.

Good lord. Amazing food in a place you wouldn’t expect. Don’t let the fact that it’s close to the washrooms by the Chatuchak weekend market fool you. I came with my family and we had to wait for a bit to be seated because of the queue but in about 10-15min we finally got a table. We ordered 5-6 dishes, 1 one of them even being vegetarian and all of them were a straight 10/10. I recommend ordering almost anything that looks/sounds good to you when you read the menu

Great little place with such savory and tasty food. The Tom Yam Gung was exceptional, as were the fried clams with chili. Will be back every time we visit the market!

This place is tucked in a corner of the market. We arrived around about 11:30am wanting to avoid the lunchtime crowd. When we arrived there was hardly anyone in here, but by the time our food came out, the place was full. When we finished our light meal, there was a small queue. The staff are polite and service focussed, taking our order and handling our requests (like extra bowls and cutlery) efficiently and without fuss. However, they lacked the warmth, smiles and gentleness we have become accustomed to (and spoilt by) in Thailand. This is not meant as a criticism, merely an observation. I'm sure that they have dealt with some truly terrible tourists over the years! We only ordered 2 dishes as we were still very full from a big breakfast. The first was the wonderful Tom Yum Goong (Sour, spicy prawn/shrimp) soup. I would have ordered the Giant River Prawns, but they were sold out. The soup was sour and spicy, but what really set it apart from the many other Tom Yum soups I have enjoyed over the years is that the soup was infused, or more correctly, packed with shrimp head butter flavour. I am referring to the intense creamy, briny flavour you get from shrimp heads, crabs guts and lobsters (the orange substance). That flavour just filled the soup and it took it to another level. Easily the best Tom Yum I've ever had. The shrimp inside was fresh and perfectly cooked (not overcooked). I ordered "medium" spicy and it was definitely Thai level spicy. I ended up scooping up every last drop of this soup, finishing it off by drinking from the bowl like it was a cup. The 2nd dish was the fried pork belly. Unfortunately, this was dry and tough, as well as quite lacking in flavour (under seasoned?). I would not recommend. In retrospect, I wish I had ordered some spring rolls instead as those look like they are freshly made and a massive batch was being fried at the front of the shop (in the alley) as we exited the shop. This review and its rating is for the soup. It was such a standout and I feel the shop is deserving of the rating. It almost feels like it was my mistake to order the pork, so I'm sticking with the rating!

Typical street food stall located at Chatuchak weekend market. Very easily accessible from MRT Kamphaeng Phet station. Open only on weekends. Arrived around 12.20 pm on a Saturday and it was already busy. Need to put your name on a waiting list. Have to wait around 40 minutes for a table. Good time to browse the menu. It's dual language with pictures of the dishes. Good idea to choose and take pictures from the menu of the dishes you want to order. Makes it easier to place order with the server. Food took a while to be served after being seated and ordered. Seems like a husband/wife operation with a couple of elderly servers helping out. Basic communication in English was possible. Ordered the famous Tom Yam Goong (shrimp) it's freshly made and piping hot. Seemed a little under seasoned for my taste but soup was creamy with some thick slices of fresh coconut. My first time seeing that in a Tom Yam soup. Been there..tired it.😁
