One of Chiang Mai’s well-known kuay jub restaurants, consistently recognized by the Michelin Guide for several consecutive years. Naturally, the signature dish here is the kuay jub, but unlike many versions in Bangkok that lean heavily on pepper, the broth here is milder and more balanced. What makes it especially interesting is the local twist—served with crispy pork skin and stuffed pork intestines filled with minced pork and egg, adding both texture and character to the bowl. Other dishes, such as the crispy pork rice and pork rib rice, were also well executed, using the same flavorful sauce that tied everything together nicely. As for side dishes, both the pork satay and fresh spring rolls were enjoyable and worth trying. Overall, this is an easy, affordable spot that’s definitely worth trying if you’re in Chiang Mai. Nothing overly complicated—just satisfying local comfort food done well. A couple of things to keep in mind: parking can be challenging, and the restaurant is cash only, so come prepared
The guay jub was excellent—really close in taste to the one we usually enjoy in Bangkok. The sausage stood out in particular: it was packed with flavour and remained wonderfully juicy, making it a definite must-try. The soup was well-balanced, not overly peppery, and very easy to enjoy. The rolled rice noodles were cooked to just the right texture, giving a satisfying bite. The roast pork was especially memorable—fragrant, tender, and full of rich flavour. I will definitely visit again when I am in Chiang Mai.
Highly recommend this 7 year Michelin bib restaurant. Food was great, Had the Krispy pork belly and the kway chap. The soup was flavourfull and the pork was Krispy! The spring rolls were also very good. You have to order before seating and can only pay in CASH. Take a numbered sheet, write your order and hand it in then wait for your number. This way ylu get your food quickly and helps keep their turnovers fast for other customers.
This was such a comforting bowl of pork soup and noodles. Crispy pork was yummy. But just alright. It was really the warm bowl of savory soup with rolled rice noodles that won me over. Honestly, the noodles kind of felt weird at first but you get used to it. Salivating as I write this review. Also loved the thai milk tea, especially on a hot day. Although not sure if it matched the meal. Haha. Comforting food done well. 🔥
