Bún Chả Cá Bà Lữ
Opening Hours
Why worth it
- A favorite among repeat visitors for its sweeter, milder bun cha ca broth compared to other shops in town
- Fish cakes are fragrant and chewy, though the crab paste is softer — worth trying both to compare
- Very affordable, with bowls costing as little as 20,000-25,000 VND
- Down-to-earth, family-run atmosphere with staff who chat and joke with regulars

Legit bún chả cá not far from GO! and Con Markets. This place is listed as open 24hrs. We were here around 6pm and it was packed. People kept coming in and out and the place never emptied for the hour we sat there. I ordered the special bowl with mackerel. We also got the bún chả cá. The fish cakes are very good. They also serve you fried dough (banh quay) to dip into your broth. Their mam is a paste so use sparingly! It's quite pungent and salty. My only complaint is that their picked shallots/carrots weren't tart enough.
I would hands down rate this as the best fish cake noodle soup in Da Nang. It’s not flashy at all—just a humble, local spot as the name suggests—but the quality of the noodles is truly outstanding. The crab cakes, fish cakes, and tuna chunks are all perfectly seasoned. But the real soul of the dish is the broth: it’s incredibly rich, savory, and packed with flavor. If you’re ever in Da Nang, this place is an absolute must-visit.
The owners are kind and friendly. Good people with warm hearts. And this is a local and authentic Vietnamese flavour for the Vietnamese noodles! It is very tasty! When I visited this restaurant, full of the customers! They have lots of options for the noodles. Although they don’t have English menu it doesn’t matter at all!!! It also means that local flavours! Highly recommend!
Second-best soup i've had in Vietnam! Sweet, thick, fish broth with all the add-on protein you like. I ordered the special one with fish cake, fish meatball, crab meatball, tuna, mackerel, and all tiny bits that i don't know what but taste really good!! You can add shrimp paste to enrich the broth, or squeeze some lime to add freshness & acidity. Pickled shallots and carrots also add some crunchy texture and flavour if you like some. Fair price (i would say its cheap) for a medium sized meal. Definitely worth to try !!
I had the bún riêu cua and it was super flavourful! The portion was great for just 25k. I can’t wait to try more from the menu. It looks a little plain because I asked for no herbs, I’m allergic to cilantro
