Im from Hong Kong and the UK, came across this place and wondered if they infused some vietnamese influences into their pastries. So I bought two to try the RAM and Flaky pastry with taro paste filling. The things ppl keep saying are too dry are the flaky pastries, I agree the pastry and the filling itself is a bit too dry. The flaky pastry is supposed to be more flaky and a bit dry but the filling is supposed to be more moist and flavourful to balance the textures out a bit more. The RAM is dried dough ball with sesame seeds, it was fresh and yummy, the texture that its supposed to be, not too oily and it had what i guess to be egg yolks mixed with eggs inside it - which is a version ive never had before. Sesame Ball, also known as Jian Dui in Cantonese or Zhīmaqiú in Mandarin. It is a popular and classic item found in Cantonese dim sum cuisine. Will try the coconut filling for the flaky pastry next time. The egg tart doesnt look very appealing so i didnt try...
Top backery in old city center and in all Town! Really cheap, fresh products every day and really good taste. Absolutely reccomanded. I have not found a similar pastry in my whole trip to Vietnam.
