Tsurutontan Soemoncho

Tsurutontan Soemoncho was one of our favorite meals in Osaka. The udon had an excellent texture, perfectly chewy and full of flavor, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion size. What made the experience even better was the traditional Japanese-style floor seating, which gave the restaurant a warm and authentic atmosphere. It really felt like a true Japanese dining experience rather than just another restaurant. The portions are surprisingly generous, so come hungry! We arrived quite late, around 9 PM, and were happy to find that the queue moved quickly, making the wait much shorter than expected. Great food, great atmosphere, and excellent value for money. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for authentic udon in Osaka.

If you love udon, this is THE place to go! They offer an incredible variety, letting you choose between regular thick or thin noodles. From beef and duck to crispy tempura, the flavor combinations are endless. Just a heads-up: it's incredibly popular, so be prepared to queue if you visit during peak hours. It's well worth the wait!

Had to dine twice to this restaurant because the food is very delicious. The second one, we were seated on the lower room where we ate on a zashiki style room. Experience was rich especially for us that were not very familiar with Japanese culture. Food volume is very generous. Queue was fast only because we arrived before the store’s opening but usually this store has very long queue especially in the evening. Will definitely recommend to my friends!

Tsurutontan Soemoncho is a fantastic place to enjoy traditional Japanese noodles in Osaka. The restaurant has a stylish yet comfortable atmosphere, and the menu offers many different udon options. The portions are generous, the noodles are perfectly cooked, and the flavors are rich and satisfying. We also tried a mixed sushi platter, which was absolutely delicious and a perfect addition to the meal. Orders are placed through an iPad at the table. The translations weren’t always perfectly accurate, but it actually made the experience a bit fun and everything worked out perfectly in the end. Overall, everything felt well prepared and carefully presented. A great spot to enjoy high-quality Japanese food in the heart of Osaka.
