Wonderful bentos, great service. You only get one chance to order because of the queue. Overall, chefs did the wonderful job, and no one rushed us through the meal, given how much we had to pay for it. Kid friendly options like the beef noodles helps those with families. Recommend coming early and getting a queue number. :)
First off! RUN to this place, it is definitely worth it. I usually dont like to eat in areas that are in the heart of all the tourists attractions, but this place changed my mind. A couple things to keep in mind..go early to get a QR code to secure your spot. they are super super popular and busy. They open at 1130 am - 230 pm for lunch. We went at 11 am to secure our spot with a QR code. They show the time till you need to come back for your reservation. Don't miss your time slot becuse once it is gone they move on quick. You can try again for thier dinner service. Now on to the food, they sear all their meats with charcoal and cooks everything to rare, unless you order the cooked items. So if you dont like rare beef, your choices are limited. The meat was soft and super flavorful. Thier crunchy chilli sauce is hightens the dishes itself. My box set, tataki waguy box with confit garlic and ponzu sauce, was loaded with green onions, my favorite and the citrus from the ponzu elevated the meal! We also had the cooked oxtail, I could have eaten the whole pot till my stomach exploded. It was fantastic, fall off the bone and just the right amount of spices and seasoning. The other appetizer we got was the waguy yukke. Which is seasoned / marinated raw beef with egg yolk. Essentially it is an Japanese beef tar tar, really good. Add some crunchy chilli oil and you will thank me. The other box we had was the classic osaka tataki bowl, it is a classic for a reason 😋 All in all, 10 out of 5 lunch experience in osaka, Japan. A must go to place in Osaka, Dontonburi area!!!
We went all the way to Osaka to try Wagyu Idaten and arrived just 15 minutes before the last order. We were so happy we made it before the restaurant closed! 🥹 We ordered the half-and-half set so we could enjoy the best of both worlds— and it did not disappoint. Every bite was tender and flavorful. It was absolutely worth catching every train just to make it there on time. One of the most memorable meals/ birthday salubong from our Japan trip!
This place came highly recommended on TikTok and ended up being our very first meal in Japan and what a way to start the trip. It was actually one of the places I was most excited to try, and it completely lived up to the hype. To get a table, we had to take a ticket and wait about an hour on a regular weekday. If you don’t want to wait, I’d definitely recommend going early. In our case, we used the time to explore Osaka, so it didn’t feel like a problem at all. Once inside, we were seated at the counter, where we could watch the chefs prepare the Wagyu right in front of us. The presentation is very distinctive: the food is served in elegant wooden boxes, which gives the whole experience a refined, gourmet feel, even though the price is actually quite reasonable for what you get. The first bite of Wagyu was unforgettable. It was incredibly juicy, tender, and literally melted in my mouth. It was one of those moments that makes you realize how special food can be, and honestly, it set the tone for what became one of the best trips of my life. The rice was perfectly cooked, and when combined with soy sauce and the additional meat and ingredients in the box, it created a dish that was both rich and perfectly balanced. The set also includes miso soup, egg yolk, and a few extra sauces to enhance the flavours. I personally mixed the egg yolk over the meat and added plenty of soy sauce, which made it even better. I enjoyed this meal like a kid, it was that good. If I ever return to Japan, this will be the first place I visit again. Highly recommended.
I super regret wasted my time going to KOBE. I should have just visitted this place from the beginning. EASIEST MY MOST FAVOURITE FOOD among all the places i visitted in japan. SUPER TASTY AND YUMMY AND SOOOO GOOD QUALITY. Chef is highly skilled and the vibe is relax considering small restaurant. SUPER RECOMMENDED. NOTE FOR EVERYONE: When they ask you what to order because you can only have 1 chance to order, order more!!! Roast beef, osaka half half, garlic, everything is just CRAZY good. Minus: too bad can only order once.
