Got the tsukemen set. The noodles are chewy and nice. But the side “sauce” for the noodles is an acquired taste. If you prefer a safer option, choose the one with hot soup on the right. Order and payment via a machine at the entrance of the shop. Accept card payment.
Small shop space, where you sit shoulder to shoulder. Interestingly you sit beside and not across within your own company. Cold springy thick noodles. Superb texture. Dip into a soup of your choice (standard, curry or rich broth). Then choose if you prefer M (200 g) or L (300 g) of noodles. 1100 yen for the noodle. You can add meat, egg or bamboo. Buy your tickets at the machine near the door
Located amidst the bustling streets of Osaka, Tsukemen Ide honten つけ麺 井手 本店 is a small ramen establishment that specializes in tsukemen, a unique style of dipping noodles. With a reputation for its exceptional flavors, I couldn't resist checking it out during my recent visit to Osaka. As my bowl of tsukemen arrived, I was impressed by the vibrant presentation. The thick, chewy noodles were arranged neatly alongside a separate bowl of rich, flavorful broth. The aroma of the broth was irresistible, and I couldn't wait to dive in. With my first dip of the noodles into the thick, savory broth, I was greeted with an explosion of flavors. The perfectly cooked noodles absorbed just the right amount of broth, allowing the flavors to meld harmoniously. The broth itself boasted a complex blend of soy sauce, tonkotsu, and various aromatic spices, creating a symphony of taste that complemented the noodles perfectly.
Maybe it is us, but both me and my spouse does not like the taste of the cold noodles, but I enjoy the broth a lot. We should probably try their ramen instead. Service is top notch, the waitress greeted us at the door and guide me on how to order their food. Then proceed to serve us ice water before our meals arrive. Highly recommended.
First meal in Osaka (after a 3km walk from the hotel), and the experience was pretty flat. My reference is Fuunji in Tokyo, and this fails in comparison (to me). The noodles were "al dente" (or rather chewy), the dipping soup was OK, but I was not blown away. This place was recommended by a Japanese YouTuber in Singapore, and I must say I'm a bit disappointed.
