We found this gem of a restaurant by chance, and it was definitely one of the most memorable meals of our trip! We ordered the motsunabe, grilled offal, tripe in vinegar sauce, and 3 kinds of pickles. Everything was so delicious, and the offal was smoky, flavourful, and didn’t smell at all. Such a great local gem with delicious food and friendly staff. Highly recommended!!
first time trying motsunabe as we were exploring locals' favourite. deserves more than 5 stars. no smell to the offal at all. delicious flavour. good portion. we had large portion of rice, two mains with extra toppings, and assorted pickles. we went around 7pm on weekday and luckily didn't have to wait but it was quite busy. staff were friendly and accommodating.
Loved our experience here. Food was different, something we have never tried before and super tasty and yummy. Hot pot instenstines was delicious, recommend getting the udon too and the grilled intenstines had a more smoky flavour. Very family friendly. Customer service was excellent. Drinks were also excellent lemon sochu great for the hot weather, very refreshing. Place wasn't busy on a Tuesday evening.
A lovely local place, near to Osaka Castle area. Owner spoke minimal English, but Google translate does a good job for the menu. Extremely friendly owner anyway! Loved the food. The grilled beef innards with miso was out of this world. Melt in your mouth intestines, zero gamey taste at all. (And trust me I've tried enough innards to know they usually come out with a strong meaty gamey and sometimes even foul taste. But this place does it so well and doesn't have this at all) The hotpot was amazing too. No gamey taste in the soup at all, just this lovely umami and peppery soup, with pre-grilled melt in your mouth beef parts. Paired with some Kirin beer, truly a meal to remember. Don't be afraid to try this!! Its a unique dish prepared skilfully.
We decided to steer away from all the touristy spots to try something that was unique to the neighborhood, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and time here. We had no trouble ordering despite the language barrier, the waitstaff was extremely nice, patient and helpful with our orders. We ordered two dishes & they were both very delicious. We definitely felt the warmth that everyone speaks of Osakans. Thank you for the lovely experience!
