Aroon (Rai)

Exactly 2 hours before our flight out of Chiang Mai, my friend was feeling very relaxed considering we should've been at the airport, and recalled how we hadn't tried Khao Soi yet. We were leaving and this was our last chance to try authentic northern Khao soi. So we took it and rushed to Aroon and I am so glad we did! These noodles were everything I dreamed of, the curry was packed with flavor, tangy and rich while not being too heavy! The owner watched us with a smile as tears rolled down my cheeks due to the spice level, but I was not going to stop as the taste was just that immaculate. The som tum was a refreshing bite and the Thai tea had the perfect level of sweetness to taper down the fire the Khao soi had left on my tongue. Delicious and will dream of those noodles until I get the chance to try them again.

Visited Aroon as our was fairly close to the hotel. Staying was fast and the staff were pleasant. The food was served fairly quickly. The breeze coming through definitely helped in this Thai heat. The papaya salad was delicious. The spring rolls were as well. The fried basil with pork was good. The tofu dish was but my dish, but was ok. I think firm tofu would have been better.

Soooo good. Love pork ginger curry was absolutely perfect! Feels like mom’s cooking 😭😭🫶🏽🧡 will come back next time for sure ✨

Excellent food, excellent service. So friendly. Arguably the best green curry I've eaten. The Som tum was delicious. Perfect spice. Great pricing.

Visited on 9 March 2026 The food is above average and very much to my liking. Combined with the pleasant atmosphere, the overall dining experience was excellent. The dishes may be a little spicy for my preference, but that could simply be because my taste buds are not very used to spicy food.
