The famous streamed crab pot with glass noodle….Also with the prawn menu. The taste is definitely deserved the reviews among foreigners. But one thing I do not like is it is too oilly. Every bite is full of oil. The greasy taste is overwhelming until you have to dip it with the seafood sauce they have provided. We have made the called to reserved 6 dishes (3 crabs and 3 prawns). However, you have to queue when you come to the restaurant and it would have take you about 10-15 mins to get the table. You have to be a little bit patience with the foods bcs it would take at least another 15 mins on the table. I’d recommend you to take grab taxi to come down here. Parking lot is available with 3 mins walking distance. My friend’s said the dish tasted a little bit better years ago. Somehow I would like you to take some real dinner after visiting the restaurant bcs they have only the streamed glass noodles for you down here.
Somsak Pu Ob offers a cozy, authentic street-side dining feel. It is a small space that seats about 20 people, so you might feel a bit close to other diners, but the wonderful aroma of fresh cooking makes it all worth it! What we loved: 1. The Glass Noodles are Amazing! The glass noodles (vermicelli) here are easily the star of the dish. They absorb all the rich, peppery, garlic, and herbal sauces perfectly. Every single bite is packed with incredible flavor. 2. Super Fast Service: Even though the kitchen is busy preparing dishes to order, the service is fast and efficient. You won't have to wait long before a piping-hot pot arrives at your table. A Friendly Tip for Diners: Order Extra Noodles: Since the glass noodles are so tasty, we highly recommend ordering a bigger portion right away! You will definitely want more. A Quick Note on the Crab: The crab flavor is delicious, but the crab itself can be on the smaller side with less meat than you might expect. If you are looking for big, meaty crab pieces, ordering an extra portion or pairing it with other toppings is a great idea to make your meal more filling! 💡 Important Reminder: This spot is Cash Only! Please make sure to bring enough cash with you before sitting down, as electronic or card payments are not accepted. Overall, if you are after fast service and the absolute best glass noodles infused with rich seafood flavor, Somsak Pu Ob is a fun and delicious stop!
I absolutely 💯 loved the food..... amazing taste and freshness in the seafood 😋. Even though its a small casual place the bill amount was a bit on the higher side Thb 1800 for 3 of us eating well. There's no rice dishes at all.......
This cozy local gem serves a truly phenomenal crab noodle dish that pairs perfectly with their cockles. It ranks as one of our top culinary highlights in Bangkok. It is a smaller venue that usually gets incredibly busy, though we lucked out with the timing during our visit. A highly recommended stop for authentic, top-tier flavors.
Street-food legend for claypot crab or prawn with glass noodles. The noodles absorb rich crab sweetness, and locals queue for this dish. 💰 Typical price: ~฿600 for a claypot crab + noodles (based on local reviews). 📌 Best for: seafood lovers, especially crab with glass noodles
