A-MA-ZING 😍 The pork belly was juicy and crispy, the chicken full of flavor and the vegetables were garlick-y and delicious 😋 The dishes are served with 2 complementary chili sauces, one was zingy and tasted a bit like the flavorings used for laarb, and the other chili sauce wasn’t necessarily spicy but sweet and fresh and packed a punch! I was surprised how huge and clean this place was. Definitely worth the taxi ride! 👌🏽
My friend and I ventured to Nengs to try their clay oven pork and we were not disappointed. We ordered the large portion of crispy belly pork at 200 baht. We both agreed it was probably some of the best pork we've had, tender and juicy and the fat crisped to perfection. It was served with a dipping sauce. We also ordered morning glory in oyster sauce and the cabbage in fish sauce, both were perfect matches for the pork. Aside from the pork and vegetables we ordered the spicy crab salad too which was also excellent. Nengs is quite a large establishment. You can choose to sit in the spacious open air section on the ground floor or head upstairs to one of the rooms with AC, which comes with a 10 baht surcharge. With a couple of drinks our bill totalled 590 baht, exceptional value for the quality of food. There are plenty of staff on hand and service is quick. There is a large car park on site if you wish to drive. In summary Nengs is a must visit in Chiang Mai for any meat lover.
We ordered the pork belly, pork neck, and chicken leg and all three dishes were absolutely amazing 👏🏼. I loved that we could customize the ingredients for the som tam and mango salad. They have an air conditioned room on the second floor, which costs an extra 10 THB per person 😆 But it is totally worth it to escape the heat. If I ever visit Chiang Mai again, this restaurant will definitely be at the top of my list to revisit🥰
1. Crispy roast pork (size M 150g) 4.5/5 - nice and crispy with good flavour and not too dry. But nothing crazy. Definitely make sure to get the sauce to go with it (10 baht additional) - nice five spice flavour but would be better if it was served hot 2. Roast chicken leg 4.5/5 - super yummy and juicy with nice flavour, simple but delicious. Came with a really nice chilli sauce. 3. Corn salad 4/5 - decent flavour and freshness but nothing out of the ordinary. 4. Fried kale in oyster sauce 2.5/5 - mostly stems, barely any leaves. Flavour was alright though. 5. Nam prik num 3/5 - decent but nothing special. We ordered all of these dishes plus a bottle of alcohol, sticky rice and normal rice. Total 515 baht. Super reasonable and worth it!!! Service was also great and super efficient. Everything came out within 10 mins of ordering. Parking also available in front of the restaurant though limited to maybe 15 spots. We arrived at 8:30pm though so there were plenty of spots. Also, outdoor air seating first and second floor, as well as air conditioned room on second floor for 10 baht per person.
Non-pretentious place - just serving great food. All reviews on Instagram and Tik Tok are true with respect to this place. The roasted pork belly and roast chicken are not to be missed. Super value for money.
