Visited this place because it was listed under the Michelin Bib Gourmand list. I arrived on a weekday afternoon slightly around 1pm, there were people but it wasn't crowded and I got a table immediately. Not sure but I think there are more seats available upstairs while I got seats downstairs. Had a look at the menu, basically they sell rice and noodles, but more noodle dishes as there were many permutations on the different kinds of ingredients on it. I thought people should come here for the crab so I ordered the noodles with the crab claws. Little did I know it was more famous for the roast meats but I would have preferred more of seafood. Also ordered a shrimp dumpling soup and a bael fruit drink. The food arrived shortly and was quite impressed with the presentation of it. Bael fruit juice was nice, something I would always drink in Thailand as it can't seem to be found elsewhere sold as a drink. The noodles were definitely the highlight. I loved the texture of the thin springy egg noodles and just needed minimal seasoning to make it so tasty. There isn't a lot of meat on the crab claws but it was still good as it tasted fresh and the meat was sweet. The dumpling soup was not too bad as there were shrimps in every dumpling and the shrimps were pretty well seasoned. The size of the dumplings were quite generous as well. Overall not a bad meal and prices were so reasonable. Was kept below 10 USD for this so it's pretty value for money to have good noodles and crab meat. Recommended to give it a try.
Review: Bamee Kon Sae Lee Thong Lo Bamee Kon Sae Lee Thong Lo is a popular noodle shop in the Thong Lo area known for its classic Thai-Chinese style egg noodles. The restaurant is simple and casual, but it attracts both locals and food lovers looking for authentic flavors. The highlight of the menu is the bamee (egg noodles), which have a firm and springy texture. The noodles are served with well-seasoned roasted pork (moo daeng), crispy pork belly, and sometimes wontons. The broth is light but flavorful, balancing sweetness and savory notes typical of traditional Bangkok noodle shops. One thing that stands out is the quality of the roasted pork. It is tender, slightly smoky, and pairs perfectly with the chewy noodles. The portion size is satisfying, and you can add condiments like chili flakes, vinegar, and fish sauce to customize the taste. The restaurant has a local street-food atmosphere—not fancy, but lively and authentic. It is a great place for a quick lunch or late-night comfort food when you are in the Thong Lo neighborhood.
I actually found this place completely by accident while looking for good noodle spots around Bangkok. As someone who loves noodles, I was constantly searching for local recommendations, and this restaurant happened to be just a short walk from my hotel and incredibly close to Thong Lor BTS Station, making it super convenient to visit. I came in with absolutely no expectations… and ended up having one of my favorite noodle meals of the trip. The noodles were fantastic. The texture was spot on, the flavors were well balanced, and everything just came together perfectly. It was one of those meals where nothing felt overdone or lacking. The funniest part was that I only intended to order one bowl. But halfway through my meal, I somehow found myself ordering a second one without even thinking about it. That’s probably the best compliment I can give! If you’re a noodle lover like me, this place is definitely worth checking out. Great food, convenient location, and a meal that left me wishing I had room for even more.
The shrimp wontons were quite delicious—the skin was thin and nicely done. However, the noodles and soup were fairly average. The crab claws were on the smaller side, and it seemed like they may have been lightly treated (possibly with boric acid) to preserve texture, which unfortunately reduced the natural sweetness of the crab meat. KH Guide & Rating :- Accessibility : 4.5/5 Easily spotted along the main road and within walking distance from Thong Lo station, though parking can be challenging. Cleanliness : 3.5/5 Ambience : A compact setup across the ground and first floor, with limited seating. Air-conditioned, but space is quite tight. Food Quality : 3.5/5 Overall average. Pricing : 3/5 Slightly on the higher side for what’s offered. Attentiveness : 5/5 Would Visit Again : Occasionally, mainly for late-night dining as it stays open until midnight.
BEST NOODLE IN BTS Thong Lor Station! Pros: Very meaty, special sauce, lemongrass tea Cons: Only take cash, no air conditioner Highly recommend: 180B combo (egg+noodle+drink)
