I visited this restaurant 24 years ago and made it back today. It was as good as I remembered it, this place was a top rated in the Lonely Planet all those years ago which is how I discovered it. Curry is delicious, roti the best I’ve had anywhere ever. It is worth the wall away from Khoa San Road. They have air conditioning in the room above so you will be well fed and comfortable. It is a must in Bangkok.
I've visited Karim Roti Mataba twice this past year, and while the food quality has been a bit inconsistent, my most recent experience was fantastic. During my first visit, the food came out dry and cold, which was a letdown. However, I gave it another shot, and this time everything was absolutely perfect! The chicken biryani was incredibly moist and packed with flavor. The Mataba was exactly how it should be; it was served hot with a wonderfully crispy shell and a moist, delicious filling. While it seems like it can be a hit or miss depending on the day, when they are on their game, the food here is top-notch.
Staffs was nice and gave me a good service. Tasty was good. This restaurant is the good old one in this area. I came alone so I only can ate 1 plate😋 I came this restaurant before and came around this place many times when I was young on my university period but not very often to eat this restaurant
I got dragged here by my wife and it might not look like a culinary delight it certainly is great food. The chicken curry and roti were fantastic, I would have liked to eat more but I was so full. Well worth the wall away from the tourist trap of Khoasan road.
Delicious halal food and warm service! Karim Roti Mataba is a fantastic halal restaurant offering authentic flavors and satisfying portions. The beef mataba was rich and perfectly spiced, while the roti cheese with milk and chocolate was a sweet, indulgent treat—crispy on the outside and gooey inside. Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere made the experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone seeking quality halal food in Bangkok!
