We were lucky that our wait was short. Original location, we wanted to go to the Branch 2 but our Taxi dropped us off here. The service was EXCELLENT taking ino consideration that this is a not a fine dining area. Food was good. Really loved the Hainanese Rice and Chilli sauce. However IMHO, the chicken wasn't good enough. But I can understand why most would rate this 5 stars. To be fair, the chicken was better than most places. It's just not 5 stars great for me... LOVED the Bitter Gourd soup and the normal soup that's provided. Credit must be given for those.
The new place, not too far away is much comfortable as it’s with aircon. Tried a chicken rice spot in Bangkok and it was a solid experience. The rice uses jasmine rice cooked in chicken broth, giving it that rich, fragrant flavor—very similar to Hainanese chicken rice you’d find in Malaysia or Singapore. The chicken itself was smooth and tender, easily one of the better versions I’ve had in Bangkok. One key difference, though, is that they serve fried chicken instead of the usual roasted or poached style common in Malaysia and Singapore. Overall, definitely worth checking out if you’re in Bangkok. That said, I’ve personally had even better versions in Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia—but this one still stands out locally.
This place serves excellent Hainanese chicken rice. If you visit, I definitely recommend ordering the Hainanese chicken rice over the other dishes! The chicken was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the rice itself was rich and savory. It paired perfectly with the complimentary chicken broth served on the side. The duck and mushroom soup was also delicious, but for me, the real highlight was definitely the Hainanese chicken rice rather than the pork dishes. Highly recommended, especially for the Hainanese chicken rice!
I just experienced the service. When we arrived with young children, the manager seemed unhappy and made us sit outside instead of inside where there was a fan. The chicken feet soup was delicious, the drinks were good, but the chicken rice was really not like Hainanese chicken rice; it was very dry, and the sauce was different and not tasty. The service was poor, only the staff were quick to greet and dismiss customers. I had young children and asked the manager to plug in a small fan for the children, but they refused, even though there were outlets and it didn't affect the business.
Great for a quick meal! Restaurant version is available nearby but this feels authentic. Chicken was delicious, tender, juicy, and the rice although in my visit was rather dry, usually it is very fragrant, soft, and a great complement for the chicken. My favorite additional side dish here is the blood curd! Staff are quick and plentiful, could get a meal and be done and out within 15 minutes.
