Lamai Night Market
Why worth it
- Koh Samui's second-biggest night market, running through Lamai's walking street area
- A dense strip of food stalls, bars, and shops that comes alive after dark
- A quieter, more local alternative to the bigger Chaweng night market

Fantastic Place! Great places all around, we had some grilled meat and a pizza (forgot to take a photo of), have to say pizza was better than anywhere in uk and I think even the Lionfield would ‘approve’- also only ~350b. Live music was in an enclosed area where they will come and give you a board of drink selections (of which i had many). They certainly don’t shy away from strong drinks 😂. Music was brilliant and they even do song requests! Cash only, as is pretty much the rest of the market, but there are cashpoints nearby. Nowhere had any issue exchanging 1000b
This review is specifically for one seafood stall at the market, called Seafood Hot Pot. Everything they serve is incredibly fresh and delicious, but the real reason to go out of your way to visit them, no matter where you are on the island, is the scallops. They are absolutely outstanding, easily better than the ones I’ve had at many restaurants. Cooked with butter, a touch of garlic, and cheese, creating a flavor you’ll remember long after you’ve forgotten the lobster or oysters. They’re that good. Highly recommended!
Great place for great food, atmosphere, music & buying all sorts of things. You just need to haggle on price & be willing to walk away if it's not good value, but I bought several items including ankle chains, Minecraft Uno cards & hair clips. There was also handbags, wooden carved items etc. Places to sit, lots of choice to eat, drink, savoury & sweet. The chicken schnitzel was my husband's favourite. I had freshly squeezed orange juice & homemade frozen blueberry Greek yogurt with banana & blueberries 😋 Highly recommended 👌🏼
Visited the famous Lamai Night Market today and it was buzzing with energy! The atmosphere was lively, filled with music, friendly vendors, and a great mix of locals and tourists. From delicious street food to unique souvenirs, the variety was impressive — truly a must-do experience in Koh Samui. 😍
Great night with a great atmosphere. Plenty of great food options for everyone and all at reasonable prices. Can get quite busy like all the popular a spots on an island getaway. Carry smaller denominations (20, 50, and 100 Baht notes), as many small vendors cannot easily change large bills early in the evening. Songtaews(red pickup taxis) wait on the main road to take passengers back to Chaweng or Bophut after the market closes. And is also a fun alternative to just getting a grab.
