This is the loveliest little place in Hatagaya. The Yakitori is some of my favourite food I ate in japan, especially the beef which was some of the most flavoursome beef I have had. The atmosphere also really makes the experience stand out. You can see the chefs prepare the food and it has a very intimate, welcoming vibe. The fact you can smoke inside doesn't hurt either.
Such a great find! This small izakaya has an authentic, cozy atmosphere like a real neighborhood pub. They specialize in yakitori (grilled skewers), and every skewer we tried was fantastic. We had lamb, beef skirt, chicken thighs, and pork belly. All perfectly grilled, tender, and packed with flavor. You usually need a reservation since the place is quite popular, but if you go early, they sometimes have room between bookings. Super friendly staff, free Wi-Fi, and a handy QR code menu in English make it really easy to order. With a 8 skewers each and some sake, our total came to about $50 CAD for two people, which felt like a great deal for the quality. Highly recommend for anyone who loves yakitori or just wants an authentic Japanese izakaya vibe without breaking the bank!
Very small place, folks—tight space, and they even allow smoking. Not my idea of “fine dining ventilation,” believe me. But the food? Absolutely fantastic. Yakitori, fried rice—so good, and the price? Maybe the best deal in town. You might leave smelling like smoke, but at least you’ll be smiling.
Hands down our best meal in Tokyo. Packed full of locals, with a great atmosphere but very welcoming to foreigners. The skewers are next level, the sirloin, ginger wrapped in pork belly and chicken thigh were a few standouts. Only downside is if you don’t book a table it’s a long wait, but well worth it!!
Easily the best yakitori I have ever had in Japan, big portions for a reasonable price. Make sure you go early as they sell out of meat by 9pm. If you are looking for somewhere late at night dont bother, it will be mostly sold out of all menu items. The place is on the smaller side and it fills up quickly every night. If you are in a group of more than 2 people I hughly recommend making a reservation. QR code ordering system which you can translate the menu. Smoking allowed indoors but before 9pm must stand inside next to the entrance, after that people can smoke at their seat. Waitress didnt speak any English but it didnt make a difference, we were able to manage with a translator and the menu being translatable made it super easy.
