Once packed with long queues, the wait is much more reasonable now. The dashi broth is wonderfully fragrant, paired with softer noodles. Make sure to try the tempura: perfectly crispy with large, juicy veggies (the eggplant and zucchini are amazing!) and big, plump shrimp. Service is quick and minimalist, similar to a casual ramen shop. Prices are tourist-level, but it makes for a great meal stop!
Found this place on Google Maps & it was indeed the best find! I’ll give 10 stars for service, food and their staff. We came in with our 3 year old, they were so welcoming despite him making some noise occasionally and playing his car toys on the table. They were so gracious to our family and we had one of the best family meals in Japan here. English menu available, staff was welcoming and service was amazing. Food was perfect, superb quality for the price point. Had their sukiyaki udon special, tuna sashimi, beef don and they were all SO GOOD!! Will definitely be back here again and recommend to my friends.
Best Udon I’ve ever had, the ambience and service are also good. They have sashimi, tempura and other various side dishes too. It’s pretty hidden as it doesn’t have a street store front, it’s on the 5th floor of an apartment building that you need to take the elevator up.
Wonderfully kind and attentive staff. Tempura is light and flavorful, and the udon is incredible. We felt like a part of the family, and would come again when we are back in Tokyo
Hidden Udon Gem in Ginza! Stumbled upon this cozy little udon spot during lunch - what a find! The place is small and welcoming and the staff is very friendly. We tried the Niku Udon and the Beef Sukiyaki Udon. Both were delicious but the beef Sukiyaki Udon was exceptionally tasty and delicious - full of flavour and perfectly balanced. If you’re in the Ginza area and craving a comforting, authentic udon meal, Samurai is definitely worth a visit.
