The staff was very helpful. I got the seasonal 5-variety 7-piece box for ¥1,566. It has classic Nara mackerel, salmon, sea bream, conger eel, and golden eye snapper. Each piece was unique and tasty. I also got their Persimmon ice cream. It was also quite tasty. The best part though was the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend this place if you want to try a some foods unique to Nara.
Great place to try Nara's specialty sushi. The staffs are very kind and patient to explain the types of sushi they have and what they recommend. We were just curious to try it out so we weren't expecting much, but we were pleasantly surprised by how good it was. It has more umami flavour compared to normal sushi, which totally suit our taste. Might not be for everyone but still worth a try. Prices are totally fair too.
A must-visit if you're in Nara. We tried the traditional kakinoha-zushi, wrapped in persimmon leaves. It's nothing extraordinary, but it's a great way to experience the local cuisine. Everything was well prepared, the ingredients were fresh and of good quality, and the staff were very friendly. I would definitely come back and recommend this place to anyone visiting Nara.
Conveniently located near the train station, this store offers a wide range of kakinoha-zushi — Nara’s sushi variation, which is a piece of sushi wrapped in a persimmon leaf for a distinct, unique taste. There is also a small dining area at the back of the shop, but it is usually crowded, so keep that in mind. I was able to find a seat and ordered a set. Honestly, I was expecting a more intense flavor from the leaves, but I could only detect a slight hint — overall, it felt almost like eating a regular sushi piece (which is always delicious, of course). The persimmon dessert, however, was excellent. The staff was friendly, and card payment is accepted here. If you happen to be in the area, try a piece in the shop just to satisfy your curiosity.
We went in once they opened dine in area. Sushi carries the fragrance from the leaf. Very unique We also like the tea they serve here
