Great sweet shop that offers the popular and delicious sweet, Yatsuhashi. They have a variety of flavors and different sweets to choose from as well. On the second floor, they offer ramen, Japanese sweet sets, parfait, and alike.
This is the second time I have been to Japan and this is the store I prefer to visit. This branch has a great selection of flavors and I even bought a mascot keychain! The gentleman working was so friendly! He made sure to find the longest date for the boxes we were bringing home with us (they don’t use preservatives and we had to get these back to America) and gave us local recommendations for both Kyoto and Nara! He was so excited and enthusiastic to talk about food and sweets and tried really hard to use the English he knew in addition to our basic level Japanese.
I went there at around 2 o’clock and the restaurant is quite crowded, luckily I didn’t wait for too long to get in. The food is ok, I like that they give you little snack as dessert. The staff is quite nice.
Picked up mango- and ramune-flavoured yatsuhashi at this location. Both were delicious! The only thing to note is that the Cafe upstairs takes last orders (I think) half an hour before closing. So if you want to do the cafe part, show up early!
