I will be straight: it's noticeably better than Kura chain. I don't know whether it's luck but we hopped here for lunch in late May with no queue. Even though the restaurant was packed, the experience was peaceful. You can observe chefs cook. The sushi look fresh, unique, tasty and vary in price (which is good given that some are on tight budget while some would prefer high-end options). 11 plates were enough to keep us full, most were cheap, but a few were luxurious. And total was around 3500 yen which is incredibly cheap comparing to basic sushi prices in Europe. I sincerely recommend fatty duck sushi, the combination blew my mind and melted in my mouth.
Decent conveyor belt sushi for good price - we waited about 20mins and got in at around 8.30pm. There’s a wide range of sushi you can get but do read the menu to check which ones are pricier such as 5 types tuna sushi / kobe beef sushi. We enjoyed the smoked duck pastrami sushi and tamago sushi the most. Green tea is free, service is great and staff is very friendly.
We first saw this sushi place while rushing through the train station, and made time to visit the next time around. It is a bit hard to actually find when you’re looking for it, but that’s part of the experience imo. The place seems to stay pretty busy, so they maintain a good variety of sushi along the belt. You can pretty much find most things at any given moment. The prices, by our standards, are incredible. For a family with three kids we spent just under $50. The service was quick and the people are very nice. Since the day we had dinner here, we’ve tried out two other conveyor belt sushi places in Kyoto, and this one was still the best. Highly recommend you stop in if you’re in the Kyoto train station.
Waiting time was reasonable, considering it's at Kyoto station and very popular. Once inside service was fast. The sushi isn't the best in Japan but it's good. I tried all the vegetarian options and liked the grilled corn the best.
I had a really great experience here. The sushi was incredibly fresh and delicious, and you could really taste the quality. I genuinely liked this place and would happily come back. They also served green tea, which made the experience even better — having a warm cup of green tea after sushi felt so relaxing and satisfying. Highly recommend if you’re in Kyoto!
