Echigo Soba

An absolutely perfect lunch and one of the best meals of our trip. I can't remember if I ordered the hot or cold soba, but it was very tasty. I enjoyed the flavor of the noodles and the tempura. Everything was prepared and presented with care. The woman working there (she might be the owner?) was very kind.

Wonderful little gem near the philosophers path. The meal was delicious, and incredible value for money. Very quick and friendly service, but some Japanese was needed, as they didn't speak English. English menu was limited to just listing 'soba with sashimi' or 'cold soba'. But I would 100% recommend as a lunch option. It was lovely atmosphere and really delicious lunch. Meat free option was available but included fish/seafood, so ok for pescatarians but not fully vegetarian.

Mom and pop store, served by a lovely couple elder, the soup was a heartwarming in a sunny windy day. The udon texture was smaller and chewy, and the topping i can say is a lot, enough for 2 persons to fill the belly for quite long of time

Delicious soba served in a small cosy restaurant run by the sweetest lady! Amazing value for money, we were shocked by how much was included in the tempura set. My favourite meal in Japan yet!

This was, hands down, the best meal I've had in Japan. The whole meal was extremely refreshing and filling. The lady is cute and nice, always explains how to eat the dish, so you can enjoy it properly ☺️ We had the Soba with a little bit of tempura and the tempura one. The tempura one came with extra dishes we didn't even know about beforehand (dessert, skewer, shrimp salad). If you're nearby, don't hesitate (note, that only cash is accepted)! Loved it so much ❤️
